Basic Skills of An Ideal Teacher And How To Acquire Them

If you take a look at the definition for the word -ideal- you will see... "Perfect in every way". This definition alone proves that there's no such thing as an ideal teacher. There are certain qualities though, that can be acquired with systematic work by any teacher in his quest to become ideal. If you are a teacher, read this article and compare yourself with the ideal person I present here. This article comes from my personal experience as a teacher. Enjoy!

Here's the qualities you must have in order to become an ideal teacher:

* You must be able to understand student's real needs, problems and anxieties. In order to do that, put yourself in the place of those youngsters as often as possible but be careful not to get too involved emotionally.

* Avoid teaching in a dull manner and become enthusiastic about what you do. Learn to give everything you have in that hour in the classroom and hypnotize the students with your teaching style. Your main goal here is to make them absorb your knowledge easily.

* An ideal teacher is a motivated teacher. Remember, your enthusiasm and motivation will rub off your students and hypnotize them so as to absorb knowledge better.

* Unite with your students. Tell them that you are not only a teacher but a listener who can listen to their problems and present solutions. Students will likely cooperate with you and pay attention to your lesson if they know you intent to truly help them.

* Don't smoke don't do any other bad habits. At least don't do it in front of students. You must know that as an ideal teacher, you are THE role model for youngsters. What you do, definitely affects their conscious and subconscious mind so be careful.

* Use your creativity in an extreme level. Don't stick to what the reputable books tell you about teaching. Create your own unique teaching approach. Students will definitely recognize your originality and they will reward you by paying attention to your lesson.

* Of course, you expect from students to be disciplined but did you know you should be also very disciplined? For example you can deny that 10th beer on the eve of a school day.

* Admit that the classroom is actually a war zone not a peaceful and intellectual paradise. If students are not willing to learn, adjust your goals to something more achievable. For example, make sure they write a half-page small letter without grammar and spelling mistakes instead of expecting them to write two pages stuffed with boring details.

* Always improve your teaching methods surprising the students. You want to do that for them but for yourself as well. Keep an eye for quality methodology books and study them eagerly.

* Don't talk too much or at least make sure there are intervals in your talk time. Use the power of discussion to let the students get involved, ask questions and let the students ask questions as well.

* Give them a smile every now and then or use your sense of humor to make them laugh. This works wonders, especially when you want to draw attention.

* Use the power of technology. Being able to use the internet to help your students is an essential skill. The internet is an inexhaustible resource for teaching materials and stuff that students will love.

* Students will always test your patience by not paying too much attention or asking questions over and over again. You must be patient enough to keep the lesson going.

* Be clean. Always bath yourself at least twice a day. Perfume and deodorant just can't replace a nice shower. It will only take you a few minutes and you will feel refreshed and ready to go!

* Speak well. Make sure others understand your words and phrases. Use a clear voice and a natural talking rhythm. If students don't understand something you say, please rephrase, otherwise you will give the impression that it is ok to talk like that.

* Be realistic when setting your teaching goals. For example don't expect students to immediately absorb the knowledge you are offering. Give them enough time. They are only humans. Again and again, set achievable goals.

Now you can learn how to create disciplined students and become an ideal teacher with this proven teaching method! How to become an ideal teacher

In this article I will present some of characteristics which should be adopted by the school teacher so that he can become the ideal school teacher. A school teacher has a sovereign role in a school class. He is the person that regulates the course, the activities of the class and its operations. His basic competence should be the transmission of knowledge, the configuration of the personality of students and their socialization. However, in our days It is obvious that there is a continuous reduction of the value of the role of a school teacher. In a way this is a result of the fact that the school teacher organizes his course according to his own preferences.

An ideal school teacher should be characterized by some ideal characteristics. He should be possessed mainly from interest for his work. This interest will help him to become more effective, to face the students and the course with great love, to overtake any difficulties and to be led to the best possible result during the educational process. Such a school teacher prompts the students to the same interest for the course making them creative and active.

The friendly character of a school teacher can lead to an ideal course. It is particularly important for a school teacher not be distant and formal toward his students because this, many times, leads to negative attitude (behavior problems) of students towards the course and the methods of teaching. On the contrary, the attitude of school teachers towards students must be friendly, facing students with affection so that a relation of trust and safety will be really created. The familiarity that will hopefully be created between them will help students to share their problems with the school teacher and collaborate with him.

The ideal school teacher should also be patient with his students. The students as children are usually unpredictable and often speak with their schoolmates during the teaching process. This many times can vex the school teacher, leading him to a continuous imposition of methods, fact that creates dissatisfaction to the students. The only way to overcome this is true dialogue which constitutes a sure way for the achievement of ideal teaching. The imposition of any method will be supposed to constitute the utmost solution. An ideal school teacher should seek ways so that he stirs the interest of his students.

The democratic mentality of a school teacher shapes very much the atmosphere of a school class. All students should be really faced as equivalent members, there must not exist any type of discriminations and the teacher should be willing to hear the opinions of all students. Finally, the good and best students will be supposed to accept the corresponding interest from the school teacher. Consequently, the awareness of particularity of each student can lead to the mutual understanding in the class.

It is very important for an ideal school teacher to teach in a comprehensible way and to transmit via his lessons models and values shaping the personality of students the right way. The school teacher owes to advise the students, communicate with them and award their efforts so that a motive for them will be created. This is what they need in the first place. All in all, an ideal school teacher should love his work, love children, be creative and patient.
